I literally started praying for some magic in my life as I had reached a point of no hope. Lo and behold, the Magic did happen . Last August 2012, I was introduced to Dr Ramen Goel who came as a blessing in my life.
Dr Goel’s team explained each and every step of the surgery, answering and clearing all doubts and questions with utmost patience. I was very positive and confident and underwent Sleeve Gastrectomy on 17th August 2012.
My pre operative weight was 87 kgs and today after 1 year I weigh 57kgs. I lost 30Â kgs, stress free, in the most healthiest, safest and surest way.
Right since post operative days till date, Dr Madhu Goel and her team has looked after me very well, guiding me at each step and encouraging me with lot of positivity and personal attention. Dr Goel’s team .are just a phone call away they always take time out and attend to queries and doubts
The support group meetings, conducted every 2-3 months are the highlight of the post operative care. I look forward to these get togethers. Dr Ramen Goel shares and updates, personally attends to every patient present making them feel special. During the course of these meetings, I make new friends, relate to other members present and learn new things about healthy lifestyle management.
Last but not the least, this second chance of a healthy lifestyle has brought back my old positive and confident self. It is now my responsibility to be regular with follow ups, staying high on self esteem, hence maintaining a healthy mind body and soul.
Accidents, hectic schedules and sluggish metabolisms make a vicious cocktail. I was on BP medication for more than a year, and diabetes and cholesterol were making their presence felt.
Thanks to a very supportive husband who instead of asking me Why? Asked me Why not? This was one decision he took instantaneously.
This bariatric surgery has given me a new lease of life. New energy, new zest and new happiness.
It’s been more than a year to the surgery and not a day goes by when I don’t thank these 2 great men. My husband and Dr. Ramen Goel for giving me so little. No diabetes, no cholesterol, no BP, no tension.
We all have one life.
Live it disease free.
My weight before surgery was 125 Kgs & had severe knee pain.I was suffering from breathlessness and could barely walk 10 steps. I was on medicines for hyper tension, and getting onto a stage where I was a borderline diabetic. When my daughter and I were walking in a mall, things got ugly when I started profusely sweating and got breathless. That’s when my family decided I should do something drastic about reducing my weight. In my next visit to India, we met with Dr. Goel and within 2 days decided to get the surgery done. Today, after 11 months of surgery, I have lost more than 45 kgs, other than my vitamins and calcium supplements I do not take any other medicines. I can walk for 2-3 miles every day and swim for about 45 minutes continuously. The surgery and the weight loss has benefitted in more than one dimension of my life. I am happier, confident and ready to take new challenges in my life!
I am a grand mom in a big, close-knit family. Before surgery I used to be depressed and was bedridden. After surgery my confidence level increased, I became more active. My blood sugar became normal and I do not have to take any medication for my diabetes. I feel really good about my life, the surgery results are amazing. I even went for Char-Dham yatra after getting the surgery done, my family members were extending their support while walking but I didn’t require it. I can climb stairs easily , walk effortlessly & enjoy swimming regularly with a group of friends . I am happy that I took the decision and my family supported me.
I had been struggling with my weight almost all my life. I would find it very difficult to say no to sweets and junk food. I also suffered from PCOD, which is a hormonal problem has to do with irregular periods, which helped in the gradual weight gain. I had a very poor self-concept and would feel inferior, due to my appearance. In the last couple of years, I had even stopped visiting social events and going out with my friends, because eventually everything would boil down to my weight. I suffered through depression and social interaction anxiety most of my adolescent life, always in the fear of anticipation when the weight-related taunt or comment would be hurled at me. Previously, I had tried every weight loss option available like gyms, health clubs, power yoga, yoga, aerobics, nothing really worked or helped, and used to bounce back on the original weight I started plus some more. After being over-weight in my entire college life, which was embarrassing enough, I decided I want to be more confident and self-assured when I enter my professional life. I decided to take charge of my life, and underwent surgery in Aug’13. My weight before surgery was 120 Kgs, and have lost 54 Kgs since then my current weight being 66 Kgs. Today, my entire outlook towards life has changed, my confidence levels have gone up. Undergoing this surgery made a major difference in my life, personally and professionally. It is noticeable in the way people talk and treat me now. It definitely changed my life for the better.
I was 193 Kgs, 2 years back I underwent bariatric surgery. I had severe lymph adenitis which used to cause liquid seepage through my lower limbs. For 6 months, I followed up with many doctors, saw many skin specialists but nothing helped. I finally decided to get the surgery done, within 30 days my water seepage stopped. I have lost more than 100 Kgs since the surgery, and I am maintaining at 88 Kgs for the past couple of months and leading a much healthier lifestyle. At 193 Kgs, I used to hardly work for 15-20 mins at office but now I am actively present at office for around 8-10 hours every day. My daughter and wife are very happy with the change.
I was 107 kgs before undergoing Bariatric Surgery and along with the extra weight I had all medical problems like diabetes, BP, high cholesterol, even my triglycerides were 10 times more than any average person.
After the surgery in an year’s time I lost 30 kgs which I had never imagined even in my dreams. My entire wardrobe had to be changed, my waist line dropped from 38” to 32”, shirt sizes dropped from 3XL to “L”. My lifestyle also changed considerably.
Today, I am fit and fine and away from all medications. Thanks a ton to Dr. Ramen Goel.
Hi I am a homemaker with a 6 yr old son. I was always a plump girl but after my marriage my weight started going out of control. By 2008 April my weight was a all time high of 115 kgs… With diet and exercise i did manage to loose 10-12 kgs but then it stopped and went into a see -saw mode… I met Dr. goel when i had lost all hopes of loosing anymore weight. Meeting Dr. Raman Goel was life changing experience.Firstly he explained to me why the weight loose stopped and how the surgery would help. I had heard about this surgery before but was always apprehensive. Dr Goel patiently answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable.I had the surgery in Jan 2010 and since then have lost 33 kgs… but more than the weight loss its the change i see in myself. I have become more confident and do not hesitate to stand up for myself. Its so nice to go shopping and get clothes for me from any shop:))The best part is my Blood pressure and cholesterol are back under control and i have so much stamina… which helps me be a better mother and homemaker…Thank you so much Dr Raman And special thanks to Dr madhu for all the guidance post surgery.
I had my surgery on 9thJune this year. My weight was 82kgs, it is 64kgs now after 4 months. My goal weight is 58kgs.
I could resume work in a week’s time after surgery.
Bariatric surgery really has changed my life. I feel confident and attractive. I am making more of an effort with my appearance and look forward to getting dressed. I always said that I wasted my 30s being fat, miserable and “absent” (hiding from the world). I turn 40 next February and really looking forward to being slim and happy in my 40s.
I underwent Gastric Bypass in 2013, my weight was 127 Kgs and my current weight is 67 Kgs . I was suffering from multiple problems such as acidity, thyroid, snoring – always dependent on my CPAP machine, had to carry it while traveling which used to be a challenge. Now, I don’t just get tired while walking but recently ran in the dream run in this year’s Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon. Weight loss journey has been phenomenal and has made me healthier physically and mentally.
